A Perfect Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommas out there.  I hope your day was filled with joy and everything that a mother deserves.  I had a perfect Mother’s Day and I wanted to share some pictures and a little glimpse of how it was spent.

At 6:30 in the morning yesterday the love is pouring in.  My family sure knows how to make a Mother’s heart feel full.   In bed with a cup of coffee in hand reading the most heartfelt card from Josh, my little darlings, with their little sleepy eyes, come into the room handing me their handmade cards and projects.  It brought me so much joy seeing their eyes light up as I unwrapped each little treasure.  I could see how proud they were with the love and work that they put into everything and it was truly rewarding.  It was the most precious scene.  I don’t think I could have been more spoiled and showered with love and I am truly blessed.

The weather could not have been more beautiful for Mother’s Day.  With the sun shining and the temperatures perfect our plans played out so beautifully. We headed to Florence, CO where Josh treated us to a nice breakfast. After that we met up with my mom and dad and sisters and brother-in-law at Elm Avenue Greenhouse in Canon City, CO.  This greenhouse is filled with any flower you can think of room after room.  It is amazing.  For flower lovers like my mom and I, it just make sense to pick out our summer blooms at the most lovely location on Mother’s Day.

So many plants!

After we picked out our flowers, we headed back to Main Street in Florence, CO to do some antique shopping.  The little town of Florence is the antique capital of Colorado.  It has the most beautiful little street of shops and restaurants and the perfect vibe.  Antique shopping is something the entire family enjoys doing so having us all together shopping for old treasures was really special.

I am so blessed to have such an amazing Mom.

We headed back to my parents house and enjoyed everyone’s company.  We had appetizers, a delicious lasagna, enjoyed the sunshine, played with the kids, and ate hot fudge sundaes for dessert.  There is not one thing that could have been different. I was showered with love from Josh and the kids, and I got to spend the day with my wonderful mother too.  It was the perfect day.

  1. What a delightful day surrounded by your family, beautiful flowers and fun things to do together. Brought a smile to my face just reading about it, and also inspired me to visit Florence once again this coming summer. Thank you Marie for sharing such lovely pictures and reminders for all of us to do these things when we can.
